My favourite vintage salon, Atelier-Mayer, is owned by the uber-chic Carmen Haid, whom I met almost at the same time as Adorn London launched in 2009. I am always inspired by the beautifully co-ordinated collections Carmen showcases – in store and online – which reflect her passion for couture and vintage styling. Having chosen some pieces to feature this week, I asked Carmen for her spin on Studio 54.

"I wish I could have had one jet-set party night at Studio 54, the legendary hotspot, notorious for hedonism, during its heyday of 70s disco. Think of Bianca Jagger, Diane von Furstenberg, Halston, Yves Saint Laurent, Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Debbie Harry, Frank Sinatra and Jerry Hall going wild; interesting encounters on the naughty balcony and four inch layers of stardust glitter… This pair of fabulous 1970s Ungaro earclips reminds me of the glamorous Paloma Picasso during this period."
