ITEM OF THE WEEK
For Autumn/Winter 2010, Lucy Hutchings’ 1920s inspired ‘Fitzgerald’ collection recreates the enchanting decadence of the flapper era by juxtaposing real peacock feathers with gold and semi-precious stones. Lucy uses a luxurious mix of crystal, pearl, Blackstone, glass and metallic semi-precious stones which together with the geometry of her 1920s art-deco inspired designs recreates the playfulness and the glamour of the flapper lifestyle. The paradox between
previous social expectations and the challenge of this during the Jazz Age are reflected through Lucy’s work in her choice of textures and materials.

Juliet Hutton-Squire was ‘Style Stalking’ the fashionistas at London Fashion Week In February and came across Lucy wearing this piece:“ I love this necklace, it is a statement and glamorous too. It is so easy to wear as it moulds to your neck -easy luxury!”…we agree with that!
