Feb 14th: Jewellery trends analysis agency, Adorn Insight, launches to huge acclaim at Birmingham’s prestigious Jewellery Show
As the fruits of a partnership between jewellery experts Juliet Hutton-Squire and Maia Adams – who between them have 10 years experience in the industry – new venture, Adorn Insight, is a trends analysis agency with a difference.
In her role as the editor of jewellery website, Adorn London, Hutton-Squire, has unprecedented access to consumer buying patterns, enabling her to identify trends in the fields of fine and designer fashion jewellery. It is these that feed into Adorn Insight: ‘Adorn London bedrocks the information that underpins our unique reports, which present trends as macro concepts,’ she explains. ‘Where Adorn Insight comes into its own is in translating these findings into easily accessible inspirations and commercially viable applications. These, in turn, provide an invaluable resource to jewellers, manufacturers and retailers seeking to create a point of difference in their work and increase commercial viability’.
The other notable feature of the subscriber-only service is that whilst Adams and Hutton-Squire take into account fashion, lifestyle and global culture, the end product is entirely jewellery-focused. ‘Our remit is to elucidate the impact of these factors on the jewellery industry,’ says Adams of the package which includes a bi-annual trend report, as well as monthly newsletters showcasing industry news, styling influences and insider profiles. In addition, the dynamic duo will offer bespoke consultancy services to retail and design professionals looking to revitalise their business.
Such has been the interest in the new venture that leading industry publication, Professional Jeweller, has paired up with Adorn Insight as its official trade media partner. The magazine’s editor Rachael Taylor says: ‘I have been a fan of Adorn London since its launch. It is an inspiring source of jewellery trends at the consumer level and when Juliet approached me about the launch of Adorn Insight, I was very keen to get involved as I am confident it will be a success’.
Says Adams of the partnership: ‘It works so well. Juliet has invaluable commercial experience as well as access to a wealth of key consumer-related data through Adorn London. Having worked alongside high-profile lifestyle brands for several years now, my interest is in finding practical, but interesting, ways to enhance their market presence. Writing a book about designer fashion jewellery in particular fed into my understanding of how jewellers can be both creative and commercial. The fact Juliet and I are both passionate about jewellery makes this a perfect synergy.’
