One of the things I enjoy most about my job is that I get to meet so many talented creatives and quiz them about their passion for jewellery.
Most recently I caught up with Daniel Sieradzki at London jewellery boutique Kabiri where he showed me the new diamond collection from his brand Alexander Fuchs.
Daniel comes with something of a pedigree in the diamond world. His grandfather Alexander – after whom the company which Daniel founded in 2010 is named – was a renowned diamantaire, supplying diamonds to the world’s leading jewellery houses.
With a concern for perpetuating the tradition, but driven by a desire to subvert conventional fine jewellery codes, Daniel struck upon the idea of suspending diamonds on fluorocarbon wire structures. The result is minimalist jewellery which focuses the attention entirely on the stone. “If I could, I would inlay the diamond directly onto a woman’s skin,” explains Daniel of his winning philosophy.
