New to Adorn’s list of contributors is artist, Anna Mortimer. I have known Anna for many years and am constantly inspired by the way she perceives the world around her. When she is not in her studio surrounded by large scale scrolls of paper and charcoal, she is wandering through the exhibition halls of the Tate and the V&A. Anna is in the final stages of her Master’s in Drawing. She said: "Drawing has always been the basis of my art practice, whether painting or textiles. The primary mark-making and process of drawing enables an exploration into the essence of the study. My sensitivity to detail encompasses my love for jewellery and fine objects". I am sure you will find Anna’s commentary on the jewel-like detail she sees in everyday objects quite fascinating.
