When it comes to horticulture, it’s the hybrids that tend to yield the most interesting blooms. Here at Adorn HQ we’ve taken this notion to heart and combined two current obsessions to come up with a look that’s perfect for the springtime sun.
First up is Prada’s gorgeous SS12 ad campaign shot by uber snapper Steven Meisel and featuring a host of sultry supes lounging around an old school gas station in vintage-feel floral prints and jewels. Add in the fact that this week sees the Chelsea Flower Show in full effect in London and it’s safe to say we’re having a flowery moment for which we’ve pulled together a suitably floral outfit.

Easy Step-By-Step
1. The temptation with floral based looks can be to pile it all on but beware, it’s a fine line between manicured border and overgrown wilderness. Starting with your clothes, select one standout piece, such as these gorgeous printed capri pants by Diane von Furstenberg at Matches, then complement with a one-tone top which echoes the floral theme in a subtle way. This daisy lace tank from Raoul is the perfect example. Add a bag with an oversized motif such as the reversible Willow tote from Orla Kiely so that scale becomes interesting, and add a dash of whimsy with flat footwear like these Roberto Cavalli acetate flower appliquéd sandals from Net A Porter.
2. Given that we’re working a retro theme, select jewellery which adds to the vibe in both style and appearance. Stacking rings reflect a sentimental mood where each piece tells a story – and rose buds are perfect for that back-in-the-day style – whilst delicate silk blooms bring a homespun feel into the mix.
3. If you’re going for earrings, consider studs rather than danglers to avoid a fussy neckline. Alexis Bittar’s pretty clip ons blend seamlessly with the vintage palette whilst the crystal embellishment adds just the right sprinkling of sunshine-catching glitz.
