The Metropolitan Museum of Art confirmed last week that the Spring 2012 exhibition at the Costume Institute would be "Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada: On Fashion". With a sterling cast of creatives overseeing the exhibition from US Vogue editor, Anna Wintour to Great Gatsby director, Baz Luhrmann of New York, this is one not to be missed. Thomas P.Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art had this to say about the joint exhibition: "Given the role Surrealism and other art movements play in the designs of both Schiaparelli and Prada, it seems only fitting that their inventive creations be explored here at the Met. Schiaparelli’s collaborations with Dalí and Cocteau as well as Prada’s current Fondazione Prada push art and fashion ever closer, in a direct, synergistic, and culturally redefining relationship." With Elsa on my radar, it is no surprise that I have been intent on adding a touch of Schiaparelli style to my wardrobe… and any of these would do.

The ‘Pineapple Suite’ would do me just fine. I would wear this with a floor length black maxi, silk turban and faux fur cropped coat.

For instant cuff appeal, this white and gold number would look great with my 70s style milk white polo neck and denim jeans.

And as for these luscious lenses, I would wear them everyday… promise, promise, promise!!
Oh, and before you go, this Video clip is simply fabulous: Stopette’s "What’s My Name" with Elsa Schiaparelli
