As experts in PR and marketing for the jewellery industry CMJ Media know a thing or two about what’s hot and happening on the adornment front, which is why we were excited to be invited to their debut press day last week.
Held at the swanky Vanilla members’ club in central London the event provided us with an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of our favourite jewellers and their new collections. We got to chat with Erica Illingworth – whose Molly B Couture line launched recently to great acclaim – about her soon to be unveiled diamond Alphabet collection, whilst Decï designer Dessy Tsolova told us how she sources the stunning carved gemstones that epitomise her work. Tina Lilienthal amused us with her whimsical bunnies and skulls, whilst Alexis Dove waxed lyrical about her vintage stylings and nature inspirations.
Also in the house was the irrepressible Marco Bicego who had flown in from Italy just for the event together with his goldsmith Pierfrancesco Mattiello who gave a demonstration of the techniques used to create Bicego’s signature textured gold. With free manicures and a tasty breakfast also on offer, a great morning was had by all. And a few Christmas wishlists got underway nice and early!
