With surrealism so prominent on the AW 2011 catwalk from the eyeball rings at Bottega Veneta to the red lip cuffs at Holly Fulton and lipstick chandeliers at Danielle Scutt, I thought it the perfect opportunity for a giveaway, especially as we were in the middle of the fashion week season. Design muse Jessica de Lotz‘s vintage ‘Blinking Eye’ ring with black diamond in a fleur de lys setting hints at the unexpected - the long-lashed eye creating the element of surprise as it winks and blinks with every hand gesture.

Salvador Dali once said: "One day it will have to be officially admitted that what we have christened reality as an even greater illusion than the world of dreams.” with Jessica‘s extraordinary narrative associated with her jewellery, this is a designer for whom concept and reality merge with dreams and illusions.

Oh my, how I ADORE Jessica de Lotz!
This piece perfectly personifies the distinctive, coquettish allure of Jessica’s work; the quick flutter of lashes bids the beholder to come hither and partake in the treasures hidden inside secret chambers, unlocked by golden keys and imbued within acrostic jewels. Her wide-eyed, fanciful world implores me with that transfixing gaze to indulge in her daydreams – to my heart’s absolute content!
Coveting not only de Lotz’s creations, but her gift for conjuring such sublime, magical narratives, I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
