Sarah Curran, CEO of My-Wardrobe.com, talks to Adorn London about new season trends and suggests ways to wear the Autumn/Winter jewels soon to be launched on My-Wardrobe.com.

"I always look forward to the Autumn/Winter collections. The luxe fabrics and rich colours, the structure and statement accessories, the transformation from relaxed summer dressing to the richness of the new season are all so exciting and inspiring. My favourite trends for AW10 have to be leather, khaki, camel and shearling. Leather is back with a vengeance and has moved from the leather legging to leather trenches, dresses, tops and skirts. Even for the faint hearted, a pair of leather leggings are actually an investment. Look for styles by Les Chiffoniers and By Malene Birger. Worn with killer heels and a blazer or oversized jumper, they can hide a multitude of sins. Give your leather an edge with your jewellery. Look for statement bib necklaces or a spiky cocktail ring by the jewellery designer of the moment, Merle O’Grady, or a futuristic statement necklace by Sportmax, which will transform any look.

We saw the beginning of the khaki trend with J Brand Houlihan and this is set to be a big story for Autumn/Winter 10.  With cargo pants by J Brand or Current Elliott, embellished blouses – look for By Malene Birger who has a beautiful one – and military-style coats by Sportmax, it’s one of the most relaxed, fashion-forward trends.  With what can be a slightly masculine trend, give your look a feminine edge through your jewellery. A new collection for us is ‘Crystallized’ by Swarovski, so look out for their statement chain necklaces and bib necklaces from their designer collaboration with Otazu, which are arriving at my-wardrobe.com in the next few weeks. Autumn/Winter 10′s most prominent colour palette is caramel and camel. From coats to capes to knits, skirts, trousers and accessories, these two colours are  going to be everywhere. Invest in a camel coat by Armand Basi, Kirsty Doyle or Designers Remix, or a caramel sweater by Jaeger London, which will be extremely versatile wardrobe essentials.  This trend is all about the gold jewellery. Delicate or chunky, you can add a feminine edge to your look with a pair of Lucy Hutchings earrings or a cuff by Nicole Richie’s best-selling House of Harlow 1960 collection. Add a statement Kenneth Jay Lane cocktail ring for night-time.

The biggest trend for the season is shearling with the key piece being the aviator jacket. With so many interpretations of the classic aviator jacket, my favourites from the collections would have to be the shearling collar aviator jacket by hip Swedish brand, Acne or Joseph and Farhi. Look at the shearling-edged gilet by Helmut Lang and shearling-lined boots by Sam Edelman, Mentor and of course, UGG. With such a statement trend, keep jewellery to a minimum. Opt for delicate chains such as an engraved coin necklace by Australian designer Nicole Fendel, a Dogeared pendant or an engraved signet or band ring by Laura Lee".
