On Monday last week, the Adorn girls descended on Coco Maya and Atelier-Mayer on Connaught Street for our Christmas do. We were treated to the most sumptuous afternoon tea – the pink detailing and gold enamel teapots were a treat, as were the lavish sandwiches and decadent chocolate friandise. The ever graceful Carmen Haid, muse and vintage stylista extraordinaire, joined us, dripping in jewels which included a replica 1960s YSL gold cuff, vintage statement ring and the most exquisite Belmacz earrings. After tea we visited the Atelier-Mayer salon, where we spent the rest of the afternoon in drool-worthy vintage originals whilst sipping champagne. It was a delightful afternoon and I felt privileged to be in the company of my sub-editor and the Adorn contributors. We were sorry not to have Gemma (writer and fashionista), Elisa (New York contributor) and Suz (creative guru and web designer par excellence) with us, due to distance and illness – next year we might have a full house!
