I haven't yet experienced lots of seriously romantic gestures, but the most romantic thing I've been given was a bunch of gorgeous flowers from my then boyfriend. They arrived in the post one morning, a surprise to me, and he had remembered that my favourite flowers were lilies. I was so sad when I eventually had to get rid of them!

I think my most romantic moment was not a gesture or a present, it was more of a moment. My girlfriend (now-wife) had embarked on the muddy waters of our first holiday together. Me being a Bear Grylls wannabe suggested a camping trip. It being the UK the trip was dampened by torrential rain constantly for the 5 days. Literally never stopped, but the trip was still wonderful. We spent the time in the tent with the rain lashing, listening to music, and then 'Benny and the Jets' came on and my girlfriend knew all the words, right there in that moment I had fallen in love. She didn't moan about the weather, we just talked and laughed and I learnt so much about her, Benny and the Jets just topped it off and from then on I was smitten. Whenever I hear the song I am instantly transported to that moment and the minute I fell for the love of my life.

My husband has never been the romatic type and was (dare I say it) always prompted when it came to romantic gestures. But to my honest surprise, delight and amazement he came up trumps on the birth of of first child. Our daughter Holly was born on 21 December 2011, hence the name Holly, and as we arrived home on Christmas Eve I was presented a small box.. Inside was the most beautiful eternity ring. Eternity ring ... I didn't know he knew there was such a token of love! Not only was the ring a thing of beauty, but the idea that the most unromatic man in the world thought of an eternity ring, carefully selected one he knew I would love and actually bought it was enough to send me into floods of tears. It is the most precious thing I posses. Love you Craig xx

My most romantic moment would be when my boyfriend surprized me with a weekend trip to London (I'm from Ottawa, Canada). I did not know where we were going, just that he booked a weekend trip for us. I should pack for fall weather he said. That day, he picked me up from work, as we headed to the airport he told me to open the glove box and there was a London guide book!! I was so excited as I had never been to the UK. The next day, when we arrived in London, (we took the redeye) I discovered my 'other' suprize; he took me to see The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre. Overall, it was one of the BEST weekends of my life!

I'm not a natural romantic and don't really like soppy gestures but random unexpected things that show people care really make me happy. Once a friend who wasn't a boyfriend, but who I flirted with outrageously gave me a mix cd of seventies disco music. The compilation I had bought, he thought was terrible so he made me one himself. He happened to give me it close to Valentines Day although it wasn't a Valentine gift. I remember the excitement I felt listening to the lyrics and the songs he had chosen for me. Having a ruby ring would remind me of how special it was that he had thought of me even remotely close to Valentines

A romantic proposal - it was a wonderful summers day in Stratford upon Avon and my lovely chap decided to take me on a picnic punting down the river. we laughed we joked and eventually we even went in a straight line.
Mid afternoon he quietly pulled over to the bank I thought we were stopping for a glass of wine - suddenly he grabbed the branch of a overhanging willow tree to steady himself and went down on one knee and said will you but the boat wobbled and capsized! I vaguely heard the marry me bit amidst the splashes !!! - so i shouted yes somehow he managed to save the ring and yes I did marry him - laughter is always at the centre of our relationship, bless he tried so very hard to get it right. The funniest bit was unbeknown to me when we stopped he thought we were on our own but when he grabbed the tree he suddenly saw 20 people on a churchyard tour overlooking the wall - that's what had startled him!! so we had a few witnesses as once he had started his proposal he did not want to stop!

My most romantic moment was meeting my husband for the first time. I've heard people say 'when you know you know' I'd always dismissed this until I met him that second was all it took for me to know he was the one. My holiday came to and end and so did his a week later. I met him at the airport and we haven't been apart since. We were married a few months later and are still very happy and in love with each other and our wonderful son. So when you've found the one you'll just know x

My boyfriend and I knew each other as friends all through school before eventually getting together at the Sixth Form ball. When we first started dating he always wore a Bowling for Soup wrist band, as a self confessed fidget-er I couldn’t help but twiddle it and often “borrow” (steal) it for a night… or 7. When we were leaving for separate Uni’s he gave me his wrist band and whenever I got nervous, home sick or was missing him I would twist and twiddle it until I had calmed down. Unfortunately, I fiddled with it so much that one day it snapped.
For our first anniversary he bought me a beautiful Swarovski bracelet and THREE replacement Bowling for Soup wrist bands! He’d sourced them from America and bought three so “You can have two, we both know you’ll loose one eventually. I’ll wear the third so that you can steal it from me when we’re together. I’m hoping if you can take this you won’t resort to ‘borrowing’ my jumpers.”
I love jewellery because of all the memories it holds and this little wrist band is one of my favorite romantic memories.
