Taking a cue from Galliano’s A/W 2010 Haute Couture showcase for Dior I have chosen pieces under a common theme of flora and fauna in a color that can be associated with both Cupid and the Devil. Red is not always the easiest color to adorn in your day to day wardrobe, which is why I try to add it into an ensemble through a pop of color. My favorite way to introduce color into any look is with a beautiful piece of statement jewelry. Here are my favourite pieces in the color of lust, passion, love, and warfare!

The ornate floral details of this vintage Stanley Hagler necklace would look stunning spilling over a fabulous evening dress.

This Alexis Bittar flower pin is made of hand-carved lucite and would bring a bit of ‘whimsy’ to any outfit.

I could never afford to spend a whopping $47,500 for this Buccellati ruby bangle but that doesn’t stop me from picturing how great it would look stacked with several thinner gold bangles and a comfy red sweater.

These vintage Van Cleef & Arpels ruby ear clips are circa 1950 and are nothing short of red carpet status.

The vibrant colours of this Chanel poured glass brooch/pendant would look beautiful paired with your ‘new season’ winter whites.

The abstract quality of this Marni brooch will leave you feeling like you are wearing a tiny work of art!

Gorgeous! The alexis bittar and marni brooches are my favorites – I’ve decided I need more brooches in my life, and those are pieces to aspire to!
