Q: I bought this Topshop dress recently and I can’t wait to wear it at a Christmas party. Please could you help me decide how I should accessorise it to bring it bang up to date!

A: Oooh, Polly – Ali Bastian was wearing this dress on BBC’s “It takes two” this week and she had no jewellery on, I think accessorising is a MUST! This is so 80′s – love the shoulder pads and glitter fabric. I would focus on earrings with this piece as the dress has a high neckline at the front and we don’t want to detract from that. To keep it 80′s with a dash of Christmas sparkle – focus on sequins discs and shimmering cascades.
