In the Cube with Karl

Karl collection adorn london jewellery blog
Now that I have time to withdraw myself from the Karl frenzy that took the fashion world by storm yesterday, I have put together my favourite ensembles from the ‘Karl’ collection launched in collaboration with online fashion power house, Net-a-Porter. Karl’s accessory line included his iconic cut-off gloves and pret-a-porter collars in sequins, faux leather and cotton-poplin.
Karl accessories Adorn London Jewelry Blog
I like a collar, my favourite is the white cotton poplin with cameo and the black faux leather collar, For the ultimate in garçon and monochrome chic, I would wear the latter teamed up with the Batya wrap effect crepe top and the Payge paneled stretch cotton shorts

For something a little more, well shimmery, the Davina ruched metallic silk blend dress is top of my list.To keep the edginess, i would focus on wristwear and accessorise my look with statement cuffs. These high shine cuffs from ASOS sold in a pack of two would inject a bit of edgy attitude into my look. However, If it was the shimmer I wanted to emulate, then this liquid gunmetal cuff by Alexis Bittar would be perfect, in fact two would do too.

Heart Stuff

With Valentine’s day just around the corner, I thought there was no time like the present to seek out my top five heart rings. From the dainty outline of Kismet by Milka’s open heart ring to the drama of Solange’s blackened jewel, there is no doubt that this is the year that designers have upped the ante on the heart stakes and from my point of view it would be hard to choose a favourite, so, without further ado, here’s…

Nature Trend: Wood

Go Green Adorn London Jewelry trends blog

There is something about wood, that I just love. The undulating lines and concentric curves that give rise to an eternal pattern book of ideas alongside the smell of freshly chopped wood is enough to arouse my senses. When it comes to jewellery, wrist wear is where it’s at for maximum grain effect. So if like me you have a penchant for stacking, then show a bit of cuff love with any of these natural wonders.

These  gold-capped ‘Cresent’ rose wood cuffs from one of my favourite wooden jewellery designer collections, the Branch would look fabulous stacked in multiples of three.

Another favourite are these Petrified wood cuffs by Toronto based designer, Dandi Maestre, the raw appeal of the petrified wood is s showstopper!

For a High Street alternative Freedom at Topshop comes up trumps with these asymmetric wooden bangles, now here I would mix the colours.

SS12 Style Tip: Layer up the neckline

For instant style satisfaction layer up the neckline with an assortment of different neckwear styles. From torqs to beaded strands and tassel fringes, the more diverse the assortment the better. Mix and match colourways or stay with a co-ordinated collection – it’s all in the length and should be worn in multiples of three.

Style tip

My Wish List: Blue Birds

One of the advantages that I have working from home is that I look out onto my garden. Whilst I don’t claim to have inherited ‘green fingers’ one of the simple pleasures I have is to see the first crocus push up from beneath the thawing winter soil and to hear the birds sing in the trees. Solange’s ‘Bluebird’ ring reminds me so much of the promise of spring and the promise of warm summer days.

Versace for H&M Cruise Collection

Donatella weaves her magic again, this time in the form of the Versace for H&M Cruise collection. The jewels are dotted with dainty butterflies which run through the collection as consistently as her iconic logo. If the sell-out status of the AW 2011 line is anything to go by, the Versace Cruise label with a High Street price tag won’t be in the stores for long. Here’s a taster, but be quick, I think they are going to ‘fly’!

Celebrity Style: Elle McPherson Red Carpet Jewelry

The gorgeous Elle McPherson looked radiant as she took her place on the Golden Globes 2012 red carpet. I LOVED her statement gold earrings designed by LA based jewellery designer,  Lorraine Schwartz.

What’s more, the’ figure of eight’ glistening gold earrings accessorised both her cream corseted Zac Posen dress and her gold sequin fishtail dress which she changed into for the after party. For a touch of Elle’s effortless glamour, here is my earring shortlist that are just as versatile but won’t break the bank.

Golden Globes 2012: Jewellery Style Alert

The Golden Globes set the standard for red carpet fashion and jewellery style for the season. Last night, striking turquoise statement pieces seemed to cause a stir amongst the fashion set. Heidi Klum’s statement Turquoise choker designed by doyenne of red carpet jewels, Lorraine Schwartz is  a dazzling statement of vibrant eye-candy. Kathleen Robertson had the same idea when it came to accessorising her neutral gown with a colour pop of vibrant blue, only she chose statement chandeliers to complement her look. Fancy a bit or ‘turq’ in your jewellery wardrobe? Then enjoy red carpet style status with one of these babies!
